Punball · systems design
New York Shitty hosts Slop New York by Mr.doob. Explore his original city on foot, by car, by bicycle or by helicopter. The buildings, traffic, lighting, cameras and controls come from the original game.
§ 1
Choose Walk, Drive, Cycle or Fly. Explore Manhattan's streets, parks, bridges and waterfronts. The original game builds its city and vehicles at load time. There are no Punball jobs, weapons, medals or score submissions.
The street atlas lets you search for streets and landmarks, plan a GPS route and teleport. The Teleport menu offers named destinations. Choose Golden Hour, Midday, Blue Hour or Night to change the light.
§ 2
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 | Walk / Drive / Cycle / Fly |
| W / S | Move, drive, pedal or pitch |
| A / D | Turn, steer or yaw |
| Space | Jump on foot; ascend in the helicopter |
| E / Q / C | Helicopter: E ascends; Q or C descends |
| Drag | Orbit the follow camera |
| V / Shift+V | Next / previous camera |
| 5 / 6 / 7 | Chase / Low-Angle Action / First-Person |
| 8 / 9 / 0 | 5th Avenue / Times Square / 42nd Street camera |
| M / H / N / B | Map / HUD / sound / car horn |
Click or tap inside the city to give it keyboard focus. The game shows a guide for the selected travel mode. Touch controls and connected gamepads use the original implementation. Use the camera menu for scenic views and the Auto-Director Aerial camera.
§ 3
The original sound starts after a pointer or keyboard gesture. N toggles it. The game remembers its sound preference and travel state in this browser when storage is available. Browser autoplay and graphics support still apply.
Punball hosts the game in a separate same-origin document. The title and maker link are the only in-game presentation changes. All imported JavaScript, CSS and geographic data retain their upstream bytes. Leaving the cabinet removes that document and its renderer. This version uses the original WebGPU renderer, TSL materials and pinned Three.js imports from jsDelivr.
§ 4
Slop New York is by Mr.doob, copyright 2026, under the MIT License. The cabinet preserves his license and source notices. Use the by Mr.doob link in the city for source, dependency and geographic data credits. Original project: https://github.com/mrdoob/slop-newyork .
This copy pins upstream commit e35c06c0d896052a80ff117aefe8b99e978913d4, observed on 29 October 2026. The original demo's HTML matched that commit at import. Updates to the original site do not silently change the vendored city code.
Geographic data includes NYC Open Data building footprints, heights and trees; MTA subway entrances; and OpenStreetMap contributors under ODbL. The software license does not replace the data licenses. This is an artistic simulation, not a navigation service.
